The Film Tax Credit is not a handout. Its a global offer to film companies saying 'Saskatchewan is open for Business'.
Was ANY research done on how much money a film spends when they are in town?
3255lynda holland
This seems like a peculiar thing to do.
3256Wayne Inverarity
The return on this investment from a monetary stand point alone should see the tax credit continue! The massive return from a provincial cultural perspective should be part of this as well! The province needs to continue to have a cultural heart!
3257Barbara Carriere
Please Reconsider!!
3258Sarah Dowling
The film industry is one of the best things happening in our province. The amount of infrastructure that will go to waste if the tax credit is eliminated will be incredible.

What a stupid decision.

I hope the Gov't comes to their senses and retracts this terrible decision.
3269Aaron G. Moore
As someone with a BFA in Film, now working on an Education degree, I feel the removal of this provincial tax credit is neither efficient nor beneficial. To remove opportunities for youth sends a message, that youth should move away from Saskatchewan.
3270Lesley Avant
Just when Saskatchewan is being taken seriously in the film industry......it makes no sense at all!
3271duane wright
This issue is crucial to the soul of our province. The numbers do not accurately reflect the overall benefit that the film industry brings to Sask.
3272Ken Summers
Taxes from $600 million far outweigh the SFETC. Consider that the Prov will have to hire crews from other Prov to shoot commercials.
3273Christina Leclerc
This cut also impacts related industries such as interactive (web) media.
3274Alicia Prokop
I want Saskatchewan to continue to be a part of the film industry.
3275Robert J. Kowalchuk
Lets not go backwards. Our province has made tremendous progress on many fronts in recent years. We are no longer the laughing backwater in Canada. While we are not "Hollywood North" this fledling industry will continue to grown and build a stronger bass
3276Robert Lang
Might aswell close the classes related to this industry in the universities and tech schools in saskatchewan.

This was a very poorly thought out decision by our government. It makes me wonder, as a business student in Saskatchewan, if I have any place here in the business world if my government has no place in the business world.
3280Sherry Farrell Racette
Out for dinner last night with Manitoba film people who are happy about the business coming their way. Stop the creative drain of projects and people. Keep Saskatchewan creative. Remember film employs trades and brings $ IN AND KEEPS PEOPLL IN SASKATCHEWAN

Sask Party Please check your math?
You have to spend money to make Money like all businesses.

There is never a good reason in this day & age to stop people from spending money, giving to the economy and spreading good news about a province like Saskatchewan.

We need a break any where we can get it.
3288Jesse Orriss

Budget cuts I get. Effectively dooming an entire industry to death, I don't. That's just poor accounting, and leadership.
3290Ravi Jilwah
3291Amanda Smith
This is a huge step backwards, and impacts more than "just" the film industry. I myself am not in the film industry, but am sickened by this decision. This is a blow to Saskatchewan industry.
3292Danielle Myers
3293Kim Sakundiak
this is a sad reflection of the Sask Party's lack of insight and lack of appreciation of culture's benefit to society.
3294Kathy Bond
How can any of the Arts grow without financial government support?
3295Sarah Huget
3296Ryan Currie
3297David Baker
Yesterday I read a story in the Winnipeg Sun about how much better the economy is in Saskatchewan vs. Manitoba - yet they seem quite willing/able to funds the projects Sask. can't/won't... doesn't make any sense.
3298Carol Fulton
This was a very short-sighted decision. Please reconsider it and reinstate the SFETC.
3299Jim Mulvale
3300Joy Hubelit
Government needs to look at the big picture. I am not in the film industry but I know what is the right thing to do is.
