Save the Saskatchewan Film Industry
Whereas the film industry in Saskatchewan has been a fertile ground for the creation for successful Aboriginal companies and;

Whereas the Aboriginal workforce has been trained and employed in the industry at numbers that meet or exceed our percentage of the Saskatchewan workforce and;

Whereas the industry was successfully creating stories and documentaries that reflected the reality of this province’s first peoples and;

Whereas the aboriginal film makers are a part of the Saskatchewan Motion Picture Industry Association and support their efforts to reinstate or enhance this program that is crucial to the future of the Saskatchewan film industry, be it resolved that:

The Government of Saskatchewan consults with representatives of the Saskatchewan Motion Picture Industry Association to develop a program equal or superior to the former film employment labour tax credit program.

This was a poor decision. You need to present a solution that keeps Saskatchewan competitive or reinstate the SFETC

Please reconsider cancelling the SFETC. We need to be competetive with other jurisdictions which all offer tax incentives.
2Richard and Laura Dougan
Reconsider keeping the film industry in our province.
